About me:
There are times in life where things just get a little too heavy. When you are working so hard that you have no time to socialise - when you socialise too much and end up with no money. Frankly as a uni student half way through my degree, I have experienced both ends of the spectrum and have found two places where I can have respite from the worries of the world. One is yoga, the other (and the reason I need to do more yoga) is cooking and eating. So here I am! Wishing to learn and hoping so share - see you around peoplefood.com.au!
I liked the blog post on making dishes from scratch - I was watching that same ep of Poh's kitchen too (jury's still out on that one, I keep alternating between finding her super cute and super annoying). I make my curries from scratch a lot of the times but it takes bloody ages. If you want a pretty good introduction for Malaysian curries without having to slave over a hot stove, the Brahim's line of curry pastes are actually really decent and inexpensive. It's a great way to become familiar with the taste and ingredients before attempting to make the paste yourself (I can't find most of the ingredients for cheap unless I trek out to Chinatown).
